Check 10-minuten aan gameplay van Modern Warfare III

Activision en ontwikkelaar Sledgehammer Games hebben tijdens de Gamescom Opening Night Live-presentatie, ruim 10 minuten gameplay getoond van de aankomende shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.

Hieronder is de gameplay showcase volledig te bekijken. Taskforce 141 infiltreert hier een zwaar bewaakte Verdanks. Dit is de allereerste missie van de single player campagne. Activision benadrukt dat dit een open map layout heeft, waardoor spelers meer vrijheid krijgen dan voorgaande games om een missie op een eigen manier aan te pakken. In de onderstaande voorbeeld zien we een stealth begin en dan een guns blazing einde, maar je kan ook als een Rambo naar je objective kunnen gaan als je dat zou willen.

Activision maakt verder bekend dat er op 5 oktober 2023 een Call of Duty Next-presentatie zal worden gehouden. Daar krijgen we de eerste beelden te zien van de multiplayer van Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, wat ons te wachten staat in Warzone en een update voor Call of Duty: Mobile.

Op 6 oktober 2023 start de beta van Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, eerst voor PlayStation-eigenaren en later ook op de PC en Xbox-consoles. De planning voor de beta test is als volgt:

Weekend One – PlayStation Exclusive
- Available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the first Beta weekend is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 6 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET and end on Tuesday, October 10 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET.
- PlayStation Early Access: Those who preordered the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, can begin playing the Beta on Friday, October 6 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET.
- PlayStation Open Beta: The rest of the weekend, from Sunday, October 8 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET to Tuesday, October 10 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET, is accessible to all PlayStation players regardless of preorder status.
Weekend Two – Cross-Play
- The second Beta weekend is for all platforms, and is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 12 at 10 A.M. PT and end on Monday, October 16 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET.
- PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: This is a free Open Beta weekend for all PlayStation 4 and 5 owners, regardless of their pre-order status.
- Xbox and PC Early Access: Those who preordered the game for Xbox Series X | S or on Xbox One, or who pre-purchased for PC via Battle.net or Steam, can begin playing the Beta on Thursday, October 12 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET.
- Xbox and PC Open Beta: The rest of the weekend, from Thursday, October 12 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET and ending on Monday, October 16 at 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET, is accessible to Xbox and PC players regardless of their preorder status.
